Learning some new skillz!

Learning some new skills :) I bought these from Poppanavakka (it's a beginners set!) My sis gave me some super cute books about making some super cute stuff!! So now I must learn how to make them! I have already started one project...more about that later!

My latest project was a little baby blanket. I also ended up making socks and a small baby beanie too!
It was a really fun project!I got the pattern for the squares from a book called  "201 Crochet Motifs, Blocks and Ideas" by Melody Griffiths. The little silver charm a bought from Etsy. I think it applies to both the blanket and the baby ;)

Knitting happiness one stitch at a time

My grandpa passed away last year in the Autumn. He was a cheery old chap who was always polite and thankful. I used to call him my teddy bear. He always had chilly feet and wore wool socks. When he passed away we found out that there were quite a few elderly people in the nursing home where our grandpa spent his last months (and probably in many other places too!) that didn't have relatives or funds to buy e.g. wool socks. This gave me and my best friend an idea to knit as much socks as we could so that we could deliver a little Christmas surprise to that nursing home. We decided that we would have a nature theme and all the socks would be named. We also wanted to make socks that were personal and colorful :)
In total we came up with 8 pairs of wool socks and 3 wrist warmers. The socks were named as follows (starting from the front): Brook Trout, Raspberry, Forest Geranium, Strawberry, Cliff by the Sea, Rowan Berry, Crocus and Apple. The wrist warmers were named: Coniferous Forest, Cherry Blossom and Yellow Waterlily.

Aid in the Kitchen!

This summer I entered a competition held by Arla Ingman. They launched a new product which is a DIY Soft Ice Cream! (Vanilla, strawberry and chocolate flavour...nom!)

The idea was to try out this new product and take a pic of the outcome and send it to them and between all the participants Arla would raffle FIVE KitchenAid Artisan stand mixers!!!

I have been daydreaming of my very own KitchenAid stand mixer ever since I saw one in a cooking show on tv (the color was raspberry ice). So I decided to take up the challenge! It was a very warm summer here in Finland this year which was nice but it also meant that ice cream would melt super fast ∑(;°Д°) ! As I was trying to outsmart mother nature I made everything ready (made chocolate a butterfly and a dragonfly, picked raspberries and strawberries, put the jars in the freezer etc.) before starting to work with the ice cream itself. But it was SO warm! Here's the result of all my hard work (^___^)

Long story short! After some super awesome news this arrived:

It came with a ice cream maker bowl (on the left). I just cant wait to try it out! Gotta go buy me some DIY Soft Ice Cream! And there where some tasty recipes too - Gingerbread Ice Cream, I might try that one out this winter ( ̄ー ̄)

I scream Ice Cream! LiLoPe
